I have really neglected this blog so I'm going to try to recap the past 4 months and sum up my plans for the future. School has been great this semester and working at ASU in the school of biological and health systems engineering has been great. My coworkers and the office environment is everything you could every want in an office job. I am shooting for finishing this semester with a 3.83, that's my goal anyway. I figure I should finish strong! Graduation is less than 4 weeks away and I have never been more excited. My convocation is 13 May 2010 at noon for any who wish to attend.
For those of you that don't already know, I have decided to apply to become an officer in the US Navy. I have put a lot of thought into this, and the Navy would offer me the chance to pursue the things I've always wanted, but I just never thought I had it in me to sign 4 (at least) years of my life away. After much contemplation, I decided to go for it and follow my dreams. After all anything worth doing is never without cost. My application, letters of recommendation, and identification forms are all submitted to Navy recruiting. The only 2 parts I have left in the application process is my ASTB exam which is this Tuesday, and my PRT. I am and have been studying like crazy for the ASTB and hope to do well on it. I am applying to be an intelligence officer (which I hear is the hardest program to get in to) so my test scores, GPA, and letters of recommendation need to be outstanding. I have decided to put the supply officer program down as a back up in case I am not accepted into the intelligence program. Assuming I am accepted, it is looking like I am going to have a difficult, adventurous, exciting, and very worthwhile 4 years ahead of me and I could not be happier.
For the people who actually read my blog, I just want to urge you to follow your dreams. Don't settle for a mediocre life. Live each day like it's your last. Seize the day, everyday. And if you want something bad enough, don't ever take no for an answer.
